& Responsibilities

At Behavior Analysis Jamaica (BAJ), we believe in empowering clients and families through transparency, mutual respect, and shared commitment. We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care and communication in all our services.

Client Rights

As a client (or caregiver of a client) receiving services from BAJ, you have the right to:

  1. Respect and Dignity
    Be treated with respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity at all times.

  2. Confidentiality
    Have your personal and health information kept private in accordance with Jamaican data protection laws and ethical standards.

  3. Informed Consent
    Receive clear, understandable information about the nature, goals, and methods of services before agreeing to participate.

  4. Participation in Planning
    Be involved in the development of individualized service goals and behavior plans.

  5. Service Quality
    Receive evidence-based services delivered by qualified professionals supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), International Behavior Analyst (IBA), or Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA).

  6. Feedback and Complaints
    Share concerns or complaints without fear of retaliation, and have them addressed in a timely and respectful manner.

  7. Access to Information
    Request access to your (or your child’s) records and service updates.

  8. Right to Refuse or Withdraw
    Refuse or discontinue services at any time (with notice), and be informed of any potential consequences of that decision.

  9. Freedom from Discrimination
    Access services without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.

Client Responsibilities

To support a positive and effective service experience, clients and caregivers are expected to:

  1. Provide Accurate Information
    Share relevant and honest information during the intake and assessment process.

  2. Participate Actively
    Engage in sessions as appropriate, attend scheduled appointments, and follow through with recommended strategies when possible.

  3. Respect Staff and Policies
    Treat BAJ staff and other clients with courtesy and respect. Follow participation, cancellation, and safety policies outlined by the organization.

  4. Maintain Confidentiality
    Respect the privacy of other clients and families you may encounter through group sessions or workshops.

  5. Communicate Openly
    Let us know about any changes, concerns, or needs that could affect your participation or progress.

  6. Provide Timely Notice
    Give advance notice if you are unable to attend a session or need to reschedule.

  7. Fulfill Financial Obligations
    Pay for services as agreed upon, including understanding your responsibilities regarding billing, cancellations, or insurance claims (if applicable).
